(KNOX) –The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association is endorsing Republican State Representative Steve Gander’s re-election bid. Gander represents House District 1B, and he was first elected to the position last year.
“We are proud to formally and unequivocally endorse Steve Gander,” the Board stated. “This endorsement reflects our strong confidence in his leadership, character, and steadfast commitment to public safety.”
Representative Gander says he is “honored to receive the endorsement.” “The men and women of law enforcement put themselves on the line every day to keep our communities safe. I am grateful for their confidence in my leadership and remain committed to supporting public safety, standing with our officers, and working to ensure every Minnesota family can live in a safe and secure community.”
He’s the former mayor of East Grand Forks and has worked as an optometrist. There’s no Republican primary election for this position in August, and he will run in the November general election.
