(KNOX) – Water usage in Emerado is back to normal after the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality issued a No Use Order. The order was lifted late Friday afternoon, June 12.
The order was issued Tuesday, June 9, after a break was detected in a transmission line from outside of town that supplies water to Emerado. It was issued because it could possibly cause disease-causing contaminants to enter the distribution system.
Laboratory testing conducted in Bismarck late last week confirmed that the city’s water was safe to drink, and residents could resume normal water use for all purposes, including drinking, cooking, bathing, laundry and other household activities, according to a Facebook post Mayor Jake Lanes made Friday evening.
Lanes cautioned residents they may notice some discoloration in their water as normal use resumes and the system continues to clear. “While the water may appear off-color, laboratory testing has confirmed that the water is safe for use and consumption.”
