(KNOX) – North Dakota voters approved ballot measure 1 last Tuesday, but there are questions about how the single subject rule will work.
The new amendment to the state’s constitution will limit any future constitutional amendments to a single subject, and Secretary of State Michael Howe will decide on whether a proposed amendment has one or more subjects.
Howe’s office says the measure will go into effect on July 24. His office also says measures slated for the general election were approved before measure 1 passed and they are not affected by the new requirement.
