(KNOX) – The case involving the murder of Isadora Wengel continues to play out in the courts.
The preliminary hearing for Joshua Alexander Hite was delayed for the third time. Hite is accused of murder, along with tampering with evidence and providing false information to law enforcement.
Wengel’s body has not been found, but law enforcement believe Hite killed her and dismembered her body, a theory based on evidence recovered during a search.
Hite’s defense team asked for the latest continuance due to the presiding judge, Steven E. McCullough, not being scheduled to preside over the hearing. Hite wants McCullough to preside over the hearing.
The hearing has been rescheduled for July 15th.
