(KNOX) – It will be an extra year before the newest potato processor in the region is up and online.
Agristo has announced that their new expected opening date is now the fall of 2029. They had originally planned to open in 2028.
The planned two-year construction is being extended to three years. City Administrator Todd Feland says that, according to the information the city has, the extension is so simply avoid the project being built in a rushed fashion.
Potato growers in the region, who will benefit from the new processor, are not concerned about the delay.
