(KNOX) – Moorhead police have released new details and photos of THC infused products recently brought to a middle school.

Authorities say the incident is a critical reminder that illegal THC products can be intentionally designed to look like everyday snacks.

The parents of a child who brought the “candy” to the Horizon Middle School have been charged with 1st Degree Controlled Substance crimes. Moorhead police say the product contained 300 mg of THC per serving. Minnesota law allows THC edibles sold in stores to contain no more than 5mg per serving.

During the investigation officers also recovered more than 1,900 vape cartridges…THC edibles and wax…psychedelic mushrooms…and $73,000 dollars in cash. Authorities say the visuals can help the community understand the scale and seriousness of what was found.
