(KNOX) – The Grand Forks Children’s Museum held ground breaking Wednesday.
The event was led by Katie Mayer, the executive director of the museum. She called it “an exciting and meaningful moment for our community.”
Many donors were mentioned in the presentation as making the project possible. The effort still needs a bit more than a million additional dollars to reach their goal of fundraising. Altru Heatlh System contributed $3.5 million for the naming rights for the building.
Mayor Brandon Bochenski celebrated the event by mentioning that the effort had taken six years to reach groundbreaking.
