Emerado School Functioning as Community’s Food Pantry

By Ryan Cunningham May 18, 2026 | 7:58 AM

(KNOX) – Emerado Schools are filling the gap after the closure of the local food pantry.

The school is staging as a make-shift food pantry and also cutting down on food waste to fill in after the food pantry was closed early in 2026.

The assistant fire chief, Cordilayne Meyer, was the director of the original food pantry.  She was unable to continue her duties due to health concerns.  She’s hopeful to return to the role in September or October.
