(KNOX) – Administration with Grand Forks Public Schools is responding to a situation involving Valley Middle School.

Rumors are circulating following threats made via Snapchat. The school maintains that there is no credible threat; however, if you have verified information to share, you are encouraged to report it to the Grand Forks Police Department.

This message was sent to parents.

Dear Valley Middle School Families,

We are writing to follow up on our previous communication regarding a message circulating on Snapchat that referenced a potential threat. At this time, there is no evidence of a credible threat to our school. However, out of an abundance of caution and to further support a safe environment, we will have additional security present at Valley Middle School tomorrow.

We want to reassure you that this situation continues to be taken very seriously and remains under active investigation in close collaboration with the Grand Forks Police Department.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority.

We appreciate your continued support, understanding, and partnership, as well as those who have reached out to help ensure the safety of our school.

Tad Schye | Valley Middle School Principal
