UND Campus Expo Emphasizes Holistic Approach to Safety

(By Joe Banish. UND Today) -Campus and community organizations dedicated to promoting safety and wellness gathered at the Memorial Union for UND’s annual Campus Safety Expo.

Among the organizations represented were the Offices of Safety and Student Health, Student Wellness Center, University Police Department and the Community Violence Intervention Center. Topics discussed included campus health care resources, fire prevention and mental health.

Among the event’s attendees was UND Police Chief Rodney Clark, who also visited with UND Today for an interview. While law enforcement plays a key role in securing the campus, safety is a holistic concept, he said.

“We wanted an opportunity for everyone to come together and talk about the different aspects of safety,” Clark said. “It’s not just the police department.”
