(KNOX) – This November, Altru is stepping up to ensure no family in our region goes hungry during the holidays. Food drives will be held in both Grand Forks and Devils Lake, offering an opportunity for the community to come together in the spirit of giving.

“We don’t want our patients and their families to go hungry this holiday season,” said Courtney Caron, Case Manager at Altru. “With access to food assistance being cut, we want to step in and make a difference for families in our community.”

In Grand Forks, Altru Hospital and Altru Clinic will host a food drive on Thursday, November 20, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Community members are encouraged to bring produce, frozen foods, and dry goods to help stock local pantries.

In Devils Lake, the Altru Clinic is collecting non-perishable food items, from November 3 –December 17, that will be sent home with students over the holiday break. Donations such as canned fruits and vegetables, soups, and pudding packs are especially appreciated.
