Grand Forks Fire Department Responds to North 48th Street

(KNOX) – Friday evening the Grand Forks Fire Department was dispatched to 502 North 48th St Unit #102 for a report of a structure fire.

Crews arrived on scene and encountered moderate smoke throughout the unit with smoldering materials on top of the stove.  Crews quickly cooled the affected materials and removed all remaining hazards from the unit.

The Grand Forks Fire Department responded with 5 Engines, 1 Ladder Truck, and a Command vehicle; with 19 personnel total. Grand Forks Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Grand Forks Police Department, Altru Ambulance and building maintenance.

The Grand Forks Fire Department would like to remind residents to keep all combustible materials away from heat sources and never leave cooking unattended.
