(KNOX) – North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley said that many agencies in Cass County are working with the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation on a probe into the sharing of child sex abuse material.
“And make no mistake about it, these are victims. These young people are having their privacy violated in a way you can only imagine, as it is spreading around. Sometimes in images that are completely concocted through Artificial intelligence,” Wrigley said.
Wrigley said that a school resource officer was first made aware that child sex abuse material had been created.
He said the first victim in the cases is a middle school student.
West Fargo Police were initially made aware of the situation and then they informed the BCI. It was determined that Snapchat was the app involved.
