(KNOX) – Grand Forks State Representative Emily O’Brien has resigned her legislative position to take job with the state Health and Human Services Department.
O’Brien has represented a portion of Grand Forks in the North Dakota Legislature since 2017, her seat is District 42.
O’Brien will start her new position as the Health and Human Services deputy commissioner this week. O’Brien plans to move to Bismarck.
The North Dakota State Legislature meets every other year, in odd numbered years. O’Brien’s replacement will not be in session until 2027.
