(KNOX) – When the Grand Forks County Commission meets this week they will have before them a budget to consider.
The commission has asked county departments to find cuts between one percent and three percent as the commission would not like to pass the budget increases onto citizens in the form of property tax increases.
The Grand Forks County Commission also has to deal with the state’s new three percent cap on property tax increases.
The commission received the proposals from the departments during a mid-July meeting and has been looking at the proposal for cuts before the special meeting this week.
