Work Underway on South Washington Street in Grand Forks

(KNOX) – The barrels have been in place on Washington Street in Grand Forks. Now get ready for the construction to start.

Traffic is down to one lane in each direction on South Washington Street at the intersection of 28^th Avenue South

Crews are working on the left turn lanes at the intersection.

To July 6^th, in addition to South Washington Street being one lane in each direction and no left hand turns allowed, 28^th Avenue South traffic will only be able to make right hand turns at the intersection.  Through traffic and left hand turns on 28^th Avenue South will be closed.  These closures are to allow crews to work in the middle of the intersection.

After July 6^th, northbound traffic on South Washington Street will be fully open while southbound traffic will be one lane with restricted left turns onto 28^th Avenue South.

The city said that the entire project is expected to take one month, weather permitting.
