(KNOX) – According to the highway patrol a Burke County Deputy was driving a marked patrol car south on Highway 8 near mile marker 193, three miles south of Bowbells.
A bicyclist was riding south on the fog line on Highway 8. The Deputy moved to the left but struck the bicyclist.
The bicycle rider was seriously injured and taken to a Minot hospital by the Bowbells Ambulance.
The crash remains under investigation by the highway patrol.
