(KNOX) – The North Dakota Motor Carriers Association will hold its annual North Dakota Truck Driving Championship (TDC) and Safety Expo on Saturday, June 21, at the Fargo Holiday Inn. The event begins at 10 a.m. and the public is invited to watch the driving skills test. The TDC grand champion will be announced during a banquet at the Holiday Inn the evening of June 21.
The TDC allows professional truck drivers to demonstrate their driving expertise, inspection skills, overall knowledge and professionalism through a series of tests. During the competition, drivers undergo a written examination, pre-trip inspection test and a live skills test. The skills course tests drivers’ ability to judge distances, maneuver tight spaces, reverse, park and position their vehicle exactly over scales, before barriers or around curves.
The Expo will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and features a variety of different trucks and emergency equipment. There will be a kid zone and activities for the whole family.
