(KNOX) – Altru Health System said that they have started to tear down their old legacy hospital in Grand Forks.
The building, which opened in 1976, will be demolished in stages as they make way for a bigger parking lot for their new building.
Demolition is expected to be done by the end of the summer.
In the decades that the building was open as a hospital, Altru officials said that over 69,000 babies were born there.
