(KNOX) – The prosecution wrapped up its case in Grand Forks County Court in the Nicole Rice murder trial.
Police allege that Rice stabbed Anita Knutson to death inside their off-campus apartment in Minot in 2007.
Knutson, 18, was found stabbed twice in the chest inside the apartment she shared with Rice near the Minot State University campus on June 4, 2007.
Police said the door was locked and the window screen in Knutson’s room was cut.
Law enforcement said that they believed that was done to make it look like there was a break-in.
Rice was arrested in 2022.
The trial is being held in Grand Forks County due to publicity in Ward County.
