(KNOX) – In 2024, officers of the Grand Forks Police Department responded to 59,047 calls for service which is an 11.2% increase from the 53,054 calls for service in 2023.
In contrast with the increase in overall calls for service, the Grand Forks Police Department also saw a slight decrease in criminal offenses reported to the Uniform Crime Reporting system in 2024.
The number of reported UCR crimes in 2024 was 9.2% below the 10-year average of 1,761.
Violent crime, which includes Murder, Rape, Robbery and Aggravated Assault, has remained relatively steady over the past ten years, however, 2024 saw violent crime rates increase over the 10-year average.
Property crime, which includes Burglary, Larceny, Auto Theft and Arson, has also remained relatively steady over the past ten years, however, 2024 saw property crime rates decrease over the 10-year average.
