(North Dakota Monitor) – The North Dakota Ethics Commission has two free educational events planned for early December.

On Dec. 9, the group is hosting a public learning session on its ethics rules from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum’s Russell Reid Auditorium. No registration is required.

The commission will also conduct a webinar on its gift rules on Dec. 12 from noon to 1 p.m.

This presentation will provide an overview of the rule, which prohibits lobbyists from giving gifts to public officials for lobbying purposes. The event can count toward continuing legal education for North Dakota attorneys. To register, visit the commission’s website.

The Ethics Commission was established by a constitutional amendment approved by North Dakota voters in 2018. It regulates ethical conduct by public officials in the areas of elections, transparency, lobbying and corruption.
