(KNOX) – The Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office received a call that an individual was on the 4th floor of the Grand Forks County Office building with a handgun.
Several deputies responded to the building. With the limited information provided, deputies approached the incident similar to an active shooter response.
Contact was made on the 4th floor with the subject. It was determined that there was no firearm on the individual.
The individual did allegedly possess an electrical shock-style device, but he had already been escorted to his vehicle and placed it in there prior to law enforcement being contacted.
Upon confirming there was no threat to the facility or the public, the County Office Building resumed normal business. The subject was removed from the property without incident.
