(KNOX/KVRR) – A 43-year-old Glyndon man is accused of shooting at three hunters wearing blaze orange hunting vests and hats on public land last Sunday.
Court documents say Cole Vanderlinden shot roughly 20 rounds in the 300 block of 170th Street North in Clay County.
A number of 911 calls were made with one hunter reported being shot at and retreating into some cattails to take cover.
Deputies arrived to confront Vanderlinden who was holding an AR style rifle with a scope.
The hunters told deputies they heard bullets go over their heads and yelled at Vanderlinden to stop shooting.
He replied by calling them a derogatory word and told him to “get over it”.
After the arrest, deputies found another rifle, a shotgun, ammunition and two baggies of meth in his vehicle.
Vanderlinden was jailed for intentional discharge of a firearm and for drugs. His bail was set at $3,000 with conditions.
