(Valley News Live) — A driver was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a car left the road, went through several yards and hit a garage in Moorhead, according to the Moorhead Police Department.

Police got the report at 3:38 p.m. of a single-vehicle crash near Oakport Street North and 21st Street North. Based on the preliminary investigation, police believe the driver had a medical emergency while heading south on Oakport Street North and lost control. The car crossed into the northbound lanes and left the road. It went through several residential yards and hit multiple objects before striking a garage and a vehicle parked inside, police said.

The crash caused significant damage to the home, but no one inside was hurt. The driver was taken to a local health care facility with non-life-threatening injuries.

No citations have been issued, and the crash remains under investigation.
