(KNOX/KFGO) – Commercial airports in North Dakota have set a new passenger record for the month of September.

Over 104,000 travelers were on flights last month, and this breaks the previous high set last year, even though there was a 5 percent decrease in available airline seats. Flights were 84 percent full in September.

Airports in Fargo, Bismarck, Jamestown, and Devils Lake had individual September records.

State aviation officials say the travel surge puts North Dakota on pace for its second-busiest year on record.
