(KFYR) – Bismarck Police have arrested two people in connection with a car crash that led to the deaths of two Mandan teenagers on Oct. 2.

The investigation determined that 19-year-old Cameron Schestler, driving a 2011 Infiniti, and 19-year-old Sidney Seidel, driving a 2015 Chevrolet Impala, were traveling westbound on West Main Avenue at high speeds and passing other vehicles.

Seidel had two passengers, one of which was an infant, in his vehicle.

Schestler’s Infiniti collided with a Chevy Equinox. Two teens, 17-year-old Ben Moch and 17-year-old Taylor Fisher, were passengers in the Equinox and died from their injuries.

The driver, a 15-year-old boy from Mandan, suffered serious injuries but has since been released from the hospital.

Investigators found no indication that those in the Equinox knew Schestler or Seidel.

Schestler suffered serious injuries in the crash and has been released from the hospital.

Investigators determined that Schestler’s vehicle speed significantly reduced the time available for the Equinox driver to react to the approaching vehicle.

Investigators also determined that none of the occupants of either the Infiniti or Equinox were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Schestler and Seidel were booked into the Burleigh-Morton Detention Center pending their initial court appearances.

Schestler was charged with:

· Manslaughter (2 counts)

· Reckless Endangerment with Extreme Indifference

· Aggravated Reckless Driving

Seidel was charged with:

· Child Neglect

· Reckless Endangerment with Extreme Indifference

· Reckless Driving

A joint funeral for Moch and Fisher was held at Mandan High School on Monday.
