(KNOX) –Altru Health System has reported for the 2025 year they had its operating margins decrease by 1.4 percent. Part of the decrease is due to the $500 million spent to build its new Grand Forks hospital.
The national average hospital and health system operating margins were at 1.3 percent in 2025.
Altru had no new loans last year, but healthcare systems and hospitals are feeling pressure from a rise in total expenses. Overall expenses have increased by roughly eight percent on an annual basis, while supply and drug costs are up about 13 percent.
