(KNOX) –A development owned by Simonson in north Grand Forks is working on a marketing phase that could lead to the development of commercial lots in what might lead to the creation of a logistics hub.
Simonson plans to use its 10 acres for further development. The development is located between North 55th and 48th streets, which is a block north of Gateway Drive near Simonson’s Travel Center and the headquarters of FreightEx.
The development received some support from the city, and with the support, has installed a retention pond that includes a utility and sanitary lift.
The area’s stormwater covers over 300 acres beyond the Simonson company properties and it connects into the English Coulee watershed. The infrastructure is projected to cost $17.2 million. The city is expected to provide nearly $6 million.
