Red River Quarterback Reese Walters After Last Friday’s Loss To Minot North

(KNOX) – Last Friday, Grand Forks Red River Football lost a shootout to Minot North 35-34 in overtime. After trailing 14-2 at halftime, and 21-2 in the third quarter, Senior Quarterback Reese Walters put the team on his back.

After throwing an early interception and fumbling in the first half, Walters threw 186 passing yards, and had five total touchdowns. He had four rushing touchdowns and one passing score. Walters threw a late touchdown and a game tying two point conversion to force overtime. He also had a go ahead rushing score in overtime, before Minot North had a game tying touchdown and game winning extra point make.

KNOX Sports Reporter Alex Carmenaty spoke with Reese last Friday after the loss. The 0-3 Roughriders next play this Friday at Williston.
