(KNOX/KFGO) –Four people were involved in a three vehicle crash in Fargo Sunday night.
They were all hurt, but two of them are dealing with life threatening injuries from the crash on University Drive.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a 24-year-old Moorhead man could face DUI, reckless endangerment and criminal vehicular injury charges in connection with the crash.
The crash report says law enforcement received a tip from a street racing group south of Fargo before 7 p.m. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says they received reports of multiple vehicles doing donuts and motorcycles popping wheelies. A Sheriff’s Office Deputy later saw the Moorhead man going 120 mph in a 45 mph zone, and that the man was going north in the southbound lane of University Drive.
The man was driving in a car and reportedly fled. He continued to drive at high speeds in the wrong direction as he hit a motorcycle near 15th Ave. He then hit an SUV.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says this is not the first time this man has fled from deputies, and they believe he is associated with or a supporter of the street racing group 701’s Most Wanted Crew.
The driver of the car and motorcycle suffered life threatening injuries. The driver of the motorcycle is a 19-year-old Fargo man, troopers say he was not wearing a helmet. Two passengers in the car, a 21-year-old and 19-year-old, both from Fargo, were also injured. Nobody in the car was wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the SUV was not injured.
Crews worked to clean up the scene for around four hours, drivers were asked by Fargo Police to avoid the area. The car that struck the motorcycle and SUV started on fire after the crash.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says they’re recommending charges of reckless endangerment, fleeing and driving under suspension. The Sheriff’s Office also says multiple traffic citations have been recommended.
