(KNOX) –The special session regarding a potential ban for kratom and several other topics will start today at the State Capitol. KNOX Afternoon Host Aaron McWilliams served one term in the State Legislature from 2016 to 2020. He doesn’t believe this special session is necessary. He also says that when he was in office, he tried to call a special session during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
This is the second time this year a special session has been called and this one will cost $216,000. It’s the first time in state history that two special sessions have happened in a single year. The session is scheduled to last from today through Friday.
Aaron McWilliams can be heard on select weekdays from 3pm-6pm.
