(KNOX) –Three manufactured homes that are stuck on I-29 South in Grand Forks should be removed by midday today. They are unable to cross the overpass at DeMers Avenue.
The trucks carrying them are unable to fit through construction on the overpass because of an 11 foot width restriction. The trucks are hauling an oversized load that is 16 feet wide.
North Dakota Highway Patrol Lieutenant Ryan Panasuk says the homes have been left on the closed right lane and shoulder because they are waiting for clearance after concrete was poured. He was told by the Department of Transportation that leaving them has been the safest option.
Vehicles that carry oversized loads should get permits that specify the route they end up taking. Panasuk says they had permits, but they went off route.
The homes have been stuck since Tuesday morning.
