95th Annual Midwest Shrine Association Summer Session Starts Tomorrow

(KNOX) -The Midwest Shrine Association will celebrate its 95th Annual Summer Session in the Greater Grand Forks region starting tomorrow. The event will go from Thursday, August 13th to Saturday, August 15th. There are expected to be thousands of participants and spectators who will attend throughout the three days.

The event will begin on Thursday at 6pm with a Shrine Parade in Crookston. The parade will have Shrine units from across the Midwest and they will display colorful traditions and pageantry. The parade starts at Central Avenue North and Alexander Street, continues east on Central Avenue to Barrett Street, and goes north on Barrett Street to Spruce Lane.
Activities will continue on Friday in Grand Forks, as there will be competitions at both the Alerus Center and the Grand Forks Fairgrounds. Shrine units will compete in a variety of events that involve skills, precision and camaraderie. There will also be a Chanter Program on Friday at 2pm at United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks.
The 95th Annual Midwest Shrine Association Summer Session will wrap up on Saturday with a second Shrine Parade at 10am in downtown Grand Forks. The parade will be seen as the grand finale of the three-day event. This parade will start at North 4th Street and Demers Avenue, then travelĀ east on Demers Avenue and it will end at 4th Street Northwest in East Grand Forks.
