(KNOX) –A new University of Minnesota policy is banning students from doing homework while working at front desks in campus residence halls. The new policy was enacted by the university’s Housing & Residential Life department.

Students working as office assistants are also prohibited from using their phones, computers, and tablets. Students working overnight shifts may still complete homework under the new policy, though electronic devices can not be used.

They are paid $15.25 per hour for this position.
