(KNOX) -Grand Forks Royals Baseball Head Coach Nick Chine died last Thursday from a heart attack. Chine had coached Thursday’s games at the Class AA American Legion Baseball State Tournament. The Royals had their season end last Thursday. A moment of silence was held for him during the state tournament last Friday.
He had been an assistant coach for the Royals for 18 years, and had been the Head Coach since 2012. He was also a teacher at Red River High School, and was an assistant coach for the Roughriders baseball team.
Chine was 57 years old.
