(KNOX) –A private school in East Grand Forks is planning to construct a new building in Grand Forks. Riverside Christian is a private, non denominational school that has been looking to expand for the past six years.
The school has already added two buildings on their current property for both middle and high school students. High School Principal Valerie Fulcher says that over the last three years; high school enrollment has increased by 50 percent, and middle school enrollment has increased by 25 percent. Fulcher also says the estimated cost of a new school is not known, but that it depends on how students will be able to handle a switch over to a new location.
RCS had plans to use the former Macy’s at Columbia Mall, but had to abandon that possibility because of how close the location is to Scheels. This was done because Scheels sells firearms.
The school already has received a donated property in south Grand Forks to use in the future.
