(KNOX) – The Grand Forks County Commission is expected to vote sometime next week whether they will support a 20 year, 90 percent PILOT for a redevelopment plan for the Ray Richards Golf Course. The redevelopment plan would include an apartment complex with 169 units and a driving range. County Commissioner Terry Bjerke was asked if he would support the proposal. He tells KNOX’s Critical Thought With Noah Chelliah.
Bjerke says he has never voted in favor of a PILOT project. He believes this PILOT is too big and for too long.
The developer of the project says it will be difficult to move forward with the redevelopment plan if the Grand Forks County Commission, School Board and City Council all don’t vote to support it.
