(KNOX/KX News) –North Dakota received $140,000 this year from settlements with three firms. The state’s Insurance & Securities Department announced they have received the money as part of multi-state enforcement actions to protect North Dakotans from unfair or unreasonable company practices.
Three settlements have been reached with Edward Jones, LPL Financial, and Stifel. Edward Jones paid $100,000 in June, while LPL Financial and Stifel both paid $20,000 in February.
The money was added to the state’s Investor Education & Technology Fund, which provides financial services and education to the public
