(KNOX/Learfield) – Several people were arrested in the Bemidji area Thursday during a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operation. Police say they were notified in advance that ICE agents would be looking for suspected individuals.
Around 11:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of people running from the south shore of Lake Bemidji, including one person who swam about 100 yards offshore. ICE agents safely removed that individual from the water. One person that was arrested was a construction worker.
