(KNOX) –A Bemidji Police Department officer hit a 36-year-old pedestrian with a squad car when driving to follow-up on a previous case.
Police say the crash happened around 1:07 a.m. on Wednesday, when the officer was traveling northbound on Irvine Avenue. Authorities say the pedestrian was wearing all black and was standing in the middle of the roadway when they were hit.
The officer and other officers responded immediately when they were helping the person. The pedestrian was taken to Sanford Hospital for their injuries.
