(KNOX) – Governor Kelly Armstrong has appointed Altru President Dr. Joshua Deere to the State Board of Higher Education. Deere is joining the board on a four year term.
Deere has practiced family medicine for more than a decade and has served as Altru president since 2022. Originally from Kennedy, Minnesota, he earned his undergraduate degree from Mayville State University and his Doctor of Medicine degree from UND. He completed residency training through the Altru Family Medicine Residency Program.
He’s one of three people to be appointed to the board. A businessman from Minot and a Mayville State University Student were also chosen.
The State Board of Higher Education manages the state system’s 11 public colleges and universities.
