(Learfield) – Governor Tim Walz says about 11,000 Minnesota households will be able to stay in their homes through a new $40 million investment approved by the Legislature. The funding will be distributed through local administrators of the state’s Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program.
The money will provide emergency financial assistance and supportive services for families experiencing homelessness or for those who are at immediate risk of losing their housing. State officials say grant agreements will be finalized this summer, with the funding expected to reach communities by the end of the year.
