(KNOX) –A 59-year-old Fargo man has been charged with robbery, after authorities say he broke into an apartment, pointed a firearm at a resident, and stole a television.
Rodney Edward Anderson was arrested last Wednesday and charged with felony robbery in connection with a June 23 incident at the Arbors apartment complex in Fargo.
The incident report says an unknown man wearing all black and a face mask entered the apartment just before 11am. He apparently pointed a black pistol at the resident and demanded he return his sister’s bicycle. The suspect would then leave with the resident’s television.
Court documents say surveillance footage from the apartment complex captured the entire incident. The video shows a Ford F-150 arriving at the complex and dropping off three suspects. The footage shows them walking to the apartment building, as one of them forced their way in and a man can be heard yelling.
Anderson was positively identified through surveillance footage and his appearance at a search warrant location later that day. He was wearing similar clothing to what he wore during the robbery. Officers also noted Anderson was wearing similar shoes that were captured on body camera footage from a previous incident.
Patrol officers located and arrested Anderson at the New Life Center on June 24. He was wearing clothing similar to that seen in the robbery footage.
Anderson denies he stole anything. The items that were taken during the incident have not been recovered.
