(KNOX) – There is remaining confusion in East Grand Forks as to what is, and is not, allowed on the Greenway in the realm of motorized bicycles.
Police Chief Mike Hedland says motorized bikes and e-motorcycles will be banned from the greenway. However, pedal-powered bicycles, or those with pedals, will still be in use.
Motorized bikes are classified as having no pedals and are entirely powered by a motor.
E-motorcycles look more like dirt bikes or motocross bikes than traditional bikes and are also powered by an engine or motor.
A new ordinance has been crafted after complaints from the public about activity on the greenway.
