(KNOX) – Grand Forks County needs election workers.
Four polling places in Grand Forks and six others in the county are stretching the capabilities of the county to staff polling places with workers.
Counties have been consolidating their polling places in recent years, several offering just one polling place at the county seat. Grand Forks County continues to offer polling places in Thompson, Northwood, Emerado, Larimore, Manvel and Gilby.
Reasons for the shortage vary, to include the work load, pay, summer vacations for the primary election, and lack of awareness of the need.
