(KNOX) – West Fargo says they will drop plans to alter an intersection after pushback from citizens.
The intersection at the source of the debate is 52nd Avenue West and Ninth Street West. The city commission voted 4-1 to scrap plans for a roundabout at that location after significant pushback from the citizens.
Complaints from the citizens included the roundabout not being a safe option for school pedestrians in the area.
Grand Forks is also considering a controversial round about near Phoenix Elementary, which the city says would promote safety. Grand Forks County has also approved a round about on 4-lane Highway 2, a roundabout approved over considerable opposition.
