North Dakota Racing Against a Change in Administration for Oil Recovery

(KNOX) – North Dakota Governor Kelly Armstrong seems to see change coming in the future acceptance of fossil fuels, and is suggesting time is running out to fully take advantage of North Dakota’s Bakken oil formation.

Last month, Armstrong said that leaders in the industry are in a race to develop what’s known as “enhanced oil recovery”, a process that could double the amount of oil harvested from the Bakken.

Armstrong made his comments at an oil conference next month, saying, “We have a tremendous opportunity in the next two years, because we have an administration that understands this stuff. We have to get them to mobilize a little faster.”

Oil and gas executives state that a number of factors will play a part in the success of enhanced oil recovery, but they offer that generations to come could benefit from the effort.
