Road Construction Expands Downtown

(KNOX) – The summer construction season continues for Grand Forks and East Grand Forks motorists.

Starting today (Monday) DeMers Avenue will be down to one lane in each direction from Washington Street to 6th Street downtown. The North Dakota DOT has scheduled a concrete panel repair project on the roadway. The lane closure will be in place until mid-September.

The Point Bridge will be temporarily closed to all traffic beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday to allow crews to complete repairs to the East Grand Forks bridge approach. Barring any unforeseen delays, the bridge is anticipated to reopen to traffic late Tuesday afternoon or early evening. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternate routes during the closure period, and use caution in the work area.
