(KNOX) – East Grand Forks City Council will look at flying an older version of the Minnesota State flag.
East Grand Forks City Council member Tim Riopelle said that he has heard from quite a few constituents about the subject.
“For next Tuesday we’re going to put on the work session agenda. So that we all can discuss it and hopefully bring it to a vote the following week, make the decision,” Riopelle said.
The new flag has a white, eight-pointed star on a dark blue field and a light blue field to the right of it.
The flag was authorized by the Minnesota State Legislature’s State Emblem Redesign Commission after getting over 2,000 designs from Minnesotans.
The new design was adopted in 2024.
